Arctic Grayling Buck in the Spawn - taken by fishing guide Taylor Chew 2017- taken right in front of FISH DENALI office in one of our spawning streams.  He won a photography contest with this one!  One of the reasons this fishery is so successful is the spawning stream is PROTECTED, no fishing. In any public streams, anglers would be throwing flies and lures right in here and disrupting a very important time in the future of a fishery. If you want to take photos of spawning Grayling or Rainbow Trout, be here late May / early June, evenings are best times of day. Just give us a call to find out when is the peak time and join a fishing trip at the same time (away from the spawning activity). Not all fish spawn every year, seems like it is every 3 years here.     TIGHT LINES TO YOU

Taylor Chew has a great photography skill. I was not even surprised when you said that the photo posted above got an award. It was a great shot, and I am not even surprised that it bagged numerous awards and got recognitions from the world of fishery. By the way, you guys are so lucky that you get to experience all of these. Fishing is not a joke, and totally not for everyone. It takes great skills to master this!
