The Wengierski family, enjoying all Alaska has to offer, staying at Denali Princess Lodge, getting photos of a beautiful Rainbow Trout they just caught. Look at that perfect fish handling by guide Nathan....he sure would be happy to help you get a photo too!
Ken Moved, from Georgia, enjoying Alaska and our fishery for the first time, staying at Creekside Cabins and is a fellow Eagle Scout and lucky for him.....newly RETIRED!!
Nice Trout for sure and the first grayling caught in the denali park area happens only here on Chavey Lakes. Come enjoy the fun! Give us a call at 907 768 2620 or book a trip online...
Jason Perrego, Alaska Lakes Guide Service from Palmer Alaska brings his guest anglers here now to enjoy the world class fishery we have helped create, and this guy is real good , it took him less than a minute to entice this particular fish to bite....that is what we call 'presentation'.
Booking lots of anglers planning on fishing with us while the fish are 'suffering' (I think) under ice for the last 6 months, I worry that we have a big die off, so as the spring weather gets better, I am always excited to drill some holes and see for my self how the fish are doing. Yes, I know we have had several groups fishing through the ice already, but the photos could be a trick. Well, LOTS OF HEALTHY FISH OF ALL SIZES were found in all 3 lakes, and had to keep two 12" and 16" rainbows for dinner. Caught this 26" buck above, 2 12" grayling, some 12 to 16" rainbows and the biggest Rainbow broke off before I could fight him tot he surface
First guests and anglers for the 2017 season. The Hanson family from Sydney Australia. Perfect weather, smiles and fun enjoyed by all.
My kind of guys.... fishing, adventure without boundaries, they lucked out to also get the northern lights also while they were camping on our middle lake. They were here to film a video, which you can see at pink bike.com
Hope that you are well. Donna and I are heading back to Alaska and we would love to spend a day fishing on your lakes again (this will be our 6th time fishing with you during our 4 visits to Alaska together). In the past we have been up there at the end of June/early July but are coming up a bit later (hopefully doesn’t impact the fishing). We were hoping that Thursday August 31, 2017 would be available. We will have a car so we have our own transportation. We know fishing is with a single barbless hook but wasn’t sure on your current rules .
Look forward to hearing from you so I can mark this one down as booked.
Gary and Donna
These two are a hoot! I have had some really great times guiding them while fishing off our docks. Gary is one of the few men I know who has caught fish in ALL 50 STATES! He loves to fish and both sure love our place as I do having them fishing here. Kirk
First fish through the ice for this winter! Wanted some dinner, so drilled a hole in the middle lake, 18" of ice, and within 5 seconds this 18" very healthy hen ( 2.2 lbs) took this 'woolly bugger' on the drop. After 20 years this fishery I helped to create still 'blows me away! And now feeds us!
Open water season is over for 2016, and life for the fish has changed for the winter, till mid May. As for our ice fishing program this winter, looks like we will be offering ' full day trips out of Fairbanks with round trip transportation' and if I can find some 'top notch' fishing guides locally we will be able to offer half day trips for folks staying in the Denali Area and those driving though....I will keep you posted here and on our fishing reports on Facebook.
I had the big pleasure of being 'the net man' for Heather Fries, Mark Wade and author Chris Batin of www.alaskaangler.com. Wow, what a way to end our summer season! We all had a great time, caught lots of BIG fish, Chris 'moused' after dark a couple of nights and caught plenty of big rainbows. We will all have to wait till Chris Batin writes his fishing report and articles to see what he thought about this fishery. I will post when we all can get his first person account. Till then this is what Mark says..
" Hi Kirk,
I really appreciated having the pleasure of fishing in your lakes and had the time of my life! I was amazed at the quality and quantity of the fish that we hooked into and will discuss with my wife your offer of coming back next spring. As promised I have contacted JBER marketing and point of contact is below. They really sounded interested in what you have to offer. I will also pass out your brochures to interested fisherman and women. All for now but will contact you more during the winter.
